Dessert Tray Frequently Asked Questions
How many desserts do I need for 50 guests?
Let’s be real; no one ever eats just one dessert. For smaller sweets like cookies, you should plan on having 2-4 per guest. For bigger bites like brownies, you can stick with 1-2 per guest. You could also opt for bite-sized treats, in which case you’ll want to plan for 3-4 per guest.
What do you put on a dessert party table?
First things first, you gotta have dessert! We recommend having a variety of delicious foods like cookies, brownies, truffles, and more. Next, you’ll need plates, serving utensils, napkins, and (maybe) regular utensils if needed. You can also add fun decorations like photos, flowers, and a pretty tablecloth if you want to be fancy.
How do you set up a dessert platter?
Don’t be fooled; it’s about looks just as much as it is taste. To meet everyone’s cravings, get a variety of desserts (both in tastes and in appearance) and use multi-tiered stands to place them on different levels of the table. Large items, such as cakes, are served best in the middle of your table (think of it as your attention-grabber or showstopper). On the other hand, smaller items, such as cookies, brownies, truffles, or other treats, should be placed on the edges for easy grabbing. Decorate each platter with brightly colored fruits (strawberries are an excellent go-to) or edible flowers to add a pop of color.
